FAQs

Q: What are your hours?
A: Office hours are Monday - Friday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Q: Do I need an appointment for an estimate consultation?
A: You DO NOT need to make an appointment between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM

Q: How long do estimate consultations take?
A: Allow approximately 15-30 minutes for the damage assessment and photos to be taken.

Q: Do you charge for estimate consultations?
A: For visual consultations there is no charge. For in depth and complicated repair planning, there may be fees, but we will go over any costs during the consultation.

Q: Will you work off my insurance estimate?
A: Yes, we can work with all insurance companies and these insurance estimates can work as a starting point in getting your car repaired. Often these insurance estimates are done from behind a computer in a far away land, there will be items missing that we can help navigate with you.

Q: Can you write a repair plan over the phone?
A: There really isn’t a way to give a complete repair plan over the phone. You can send us photos via email (qbw@qualitybodyworks.com) and the photos can help us advise you of your options.

Q: Does my car need to be clean for an estimate?
A: Ideally yes, but it isn’t required.

Q: Who reports the accident to my insurance company?
A: You need to provide details of the accident. Please contact your insurance agent, insurance company, fleet manager or fleet management company.

Q: What information does Quality Body Works need?  A: We will need your contact information including your phone number and email (we don’t spam). If you are working with an insurance company for repairs, QBW will need your claim number, and it’s best when your insurance company contacts QBW directly.

Q: What is an insurance agent, adjuster, appraiser or claims representative?
A: An Agent is a sales (often local) representative responsible for helping you buy insurance polices. Claims representatives are typically the main point of contact for you (the customer) during the claim process while adjusters and appraisers will be who communicates with the body shop regarding repairs plans.

Q: How does a total loss work?
A: If the damage on your vehicle is extensive enough to declare it a “Total Loss”, your insurance company will calculate the value of your vehicle and make you an offer to settle the claim. We are here to help you through this process.

Q: Can you tow my car?
A: We can help facilitate towing to QBW. Please call us and let us know you would like to have your vehicle towed to us. There are a number of details to go over with you to avoid having any excess costs.

Q: How far are you scheduled out?
A: If parts are here, and payments are authorized, we can usually get your vehicle in for repairs quite quickly. Typically the insurance payment authorization can take some time and can vary greatly by insurance company. Additionally, getting parts delivered to Humboldt can vary greatly by car brand and types of parts.

Q: Do you have a drop box for keys?
A: We have an after-hours drop box available for pre arranged drop offs. We advise against dropping your keys off without talking with us first.

Q: How long will repairs take?
A: The answer to this questions will differ with every repair due to variables at every step of the way. We will do our absolute best to give you accurate repair timelines and communicate with you at any changes that are out of our control.

Q: Do you have rental cars?
A: Hertz or Enterprise offer car rentals and both companies can pick you up from QBW.  Cost varies by the size of the vehicle.  Additionally, QBW has a very limited supply of vehicles that we can offer.

Q: Who pays for the rental car?
A: This depends, if you are a claimant (other party is at fault) then the other party’s insurance company is obligated to pay for a “like” rental car. If using your own insurance company then rental coverage will be limited to the terms of your policy. Quality Body Works does NOT pay for rental cars.
